Alaskan Brewing’s Coastal CODE Announces Community Cleanup “This spring, Coastal CODE will work with partners to coordinate a larger cleanup effort than ever before. Nonprofit partners committed to promoting sustainable oceans and waterways will help host cleanups in their communities in conjunction with Coastal CODE. This is the first time we’ve sponsored such a large-scale cleanup effort, and we’re feeling good about how much we’ll be able to accomplish.” A list of participating communities and Coastal CODE partnership cleanups can be Homer Cook Inlet Keeper and the Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies will collaborate to host a cleanup in Homer from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The cleanup will focus on the area around the Anchor River. Volunteers will meet in the beach access parking lot. |

Tomorrow will be a modified Club Assembly
I am proposing having a "working" lunch where folks sit with their committees and go over this year's work and goals/progress and at 12:20ish we will have 2 short presentations - one from the RYLA students and the other from a Rotary group from Nicaragua to talk about their projects. Beth

Winston's Shelter Box & West Coast Trip Fundraisers.
Venue: Bidarka Inn (where Rotary meetings are held) Time: 6:00pm Date: Friday June 1 Donations : $50 or more ( The fundraiser is mainly for Shelter Box but a lot bit of it goes to my trip ) Please feel free to invite friends and families.
ShelterBox is an international disaster relief charity that provides temporary shelter and life saving supplies to families displaced by natural disasters.
The fundraiser will be a series of Nigerian meals and a showcase of Nigerian cultures. It is going to be like Nigeria in Homer! |

N. Diane Fejes Rotary International District 5010, Governor 2018-19
After growing up on a cattle and wheat ranch in southern Idaho, Diane graduated from Utah State University, moved to Alaska in 1978 and became a Certified Public Accountant. She worked with the international accounting firms of Deloitte and KPMG as a Tax Partner - retiring in 2011 after 33 years of interpreting the ever-changing tax law. Diane and her husband, Bob, live in Anchorage where they raised their two intelligent, beautiful and fun daughters, Anna and Erin. They enjoy the Alaskan lifestyle which includes flying to their remote cabin in summer, and winter trips to Hawaii.
Joining Rotary in 1989 with the Anchorage Rotary club, Diane has served in many Club and District capacities. These include Club President in the year 2000-2001, District Treasurer, Assistant Governor and as District 5010’s Dean of The Leadership Academy, which trains future leaders about Rotary in an in-depth eLearning classroom over a 7 month timeframe. Diane also serves on several community and corporate boards. As a Rotary Foundation Major Donor and Bequest Society member DG Diane believes that the business oriented, non-religious, non-political aspect of Rotary allows us to succeed in being the preeminent worldwide organization to bring health, literacy, peace and prosperity to our world.

Transportation arranged! Stay tuned for further information! We have been invited to the Gordon's for their Annual Halibut Cove Labor Day Party. Gordon's are providing beer, wine and soft drinks, plus burgers and hot dogs. We bring potluck. Every one that I have been to has been tremendous fun! The times that I have put on here are APPROXIMATE, The real times are TBA later. We'll need boats for people to ride in. If there are no volunteer boat drivers, the cost per person will be approximately $60-$80 to take a water taxi. Please contact Dee Clyne at 907-299-4748 ASAP if you haven't signed up already!
